The Proposal

Before proposing, Bernardo traditionally called each individual in Sylvia's
family, including her father in Mexico, and asked for her hand in marriage.
He then sent word to their family and friends that he would be proposing on
March 8, and asked that everyone meet them afterward to celebrate at the Four
Seasons in San Francisco.
Sylvia's family and friends all knew and kept her occupied while
Bernardo flooded the house with flowers and candlelight and when she
came home, there was rectangular box waiting for her on the table with a
card telling her how much he loved her. When Sylvia opened the
box, there was another box, and another card. Inside the next box,
was another box, with another card, with the words, "Will you...."
She turned around to see Bernardo, he was on one knee, ring in hand,
with the words, "Will you marry me?" to which she of course said,
"Yes."
Twenty members of their family and friends were waiting to celebrate at the Four
Seasons when they arrived and to top off the surprise, rectangular box waiting
for her on the table with a card telling her how much he loved her. Bernardo had
a weekend away to the Ritz Half Moon Bay planned to celebrate their engagement.
